I am considering Windows 8. Does anyone know if AutoCAD 2008 will run on Windows 8 successfully on a laptop or maybe a tablet? I would rather not upgrade AutoCAD, since the version I have is very sufficient for my purposes.

I know that AutoCAD 2011 works because I use it with W8, but I'm quite sure that versions older than ACAD 2009 wont work properly

If it runs in Windows 7, it should run in 8 - so far I have found this to be true.

“The gateway to get to Windows 8 is Windows 7, and we will have backward compatibility with Windows 7 embedded into Windows 8. That's something that
we're very committed to. But that's a really important first pillar,” Kevin Turner, Microsoft's COO said at the Worldwide Partner Conference 2011.
