All My Apps Are Gone!

Well not actually true. I see them under Windows.old but can't run them. Not even my Microsoft Office 2010! 22 Apps, non showing. I checked the apps screen (went to search, found Apps, then typed in several application's names but no luck. Then went into the system and checked under "Program" and Program Files"....nothing showing!

I had to go to Users-Windows.old to find the "Programs" folder with my apps. Any help would be appreciated. At the very worst, can I uninstall and regain my apps or will I lose them that way too?

Hi, Danny56, welcome to the Eight Forums.

If you have a "Windows.old" folder than you either did a refresh or a reinstall but not a clean one.

Any apps you had prior will have to be reinstalled but your data should still exist given that you assert you have a "Windows.old" folder.

May not be your forte, but is there anyway to check my machine for the Product Key by looking in the Windows.old folder?

Win 8 doesnt need a key, but if you are looking for the win 7 key Magic jellybean would find it if it were in a normal directory. Dont know if it would in win.old
