Software: Gallery for registred user to upload photos?

Hello @ll

I would like to ask if anyone knows an open source software that can be used by visitiors/registred user of my website to upload photos? (similar to fllickr etc.)

I intend to create a photo website dedicated to a special camera. User then should be able to upload, comment and rate photos.

I know I could use flickr, picasa or similar, but I would like to have my own project ;-)

For forums, I use phpbb which is easy to install and maintain.

You might want to check out Coppermine Photo Gallery. I haven't implemented it beyond the playing around phase, but it seems to have a good feature set, and also, if you want to, can integrate with phpbb...

I know the integration allows users of PHPBB to access the gallery using the same credentials, but it may offer deeper integration than that.

Darwin, if you like to have a look at these two products, Gallery3 and Coppermine, here are my test installations. They're pretty much out of the box. Coppermine has a lot more of configuration possibilities than Gallery3, also the installation is a bit easier.

Both php/MySQL based.
