Sadly, Updating has broken my Metro Apps

Updated this morning from windows 8 pro to 8.1 right of the bat I noticed that all my downloaded apps have an x in corner. Cant reinstall any apps because Store wont open. Charm bar comes up but but cant access pc settings. It would seem that 8.1 broke my start screen.:shock: Howto reinstall 8.1? seems my installations is corrupt.
