I''m new in this forums. Not sure if this thread is the right section for this. Just lemme know and/or move this topic if it's not.

I just tried reinstalling a program by uninstalling it then installing it. It asked me restart after uninstalling but I didn't and proceeded with installing it. I have yet to have issues with it, but is it okay to do this? Won't I have any problems later with this, like an important file getting deleted as scheduled after I restart or something?

When you uninstall a program there can be parts still left in memory or in a cache somewhere, so many programs prompt you to restart, which clears that out. In addition, if a program was uninstalled because it had a problem, if you reinstall without restarting you can still have the same problem.

Should've suspected. Thanks. I was hoping I won't need to waste time on reinstalling a couple of apps that I did this to since I'm busy with stuff, but then again I'll need to do a soft reset anyway due to a buggy theme patcher. This time I ain't gonna do this again.

I do wonder, though. Is there a way to cancel the scheduled deletion of files by an uninstaller so when I restart they don't get deleted?

If I have files I want to keep, I copy them to another folder somewhere. Then if the uninstall deletes them, I still have them.

I have a folder C:\Temp and I use that folder for a catch all for temporary files and data.
