Problem opening docuemnts (app not found)

I have installed office 2007 which I purchased with my last laptop and my office 2013 is currently still on its trial period and about a week left (which im not going to purchase it)
I made a word document within word2007 and saved it to my desktop
when I then click on the shortcut icon on my desktop it then opens my document in word2013
so I right clicked on it and changed it to open with word2007, but when I get the message "this app can't run on your pc" and it doesn't open
how can I get this so that it will just open with word2007?

I'd say try uninstalling the office 2013 if your not going to keep using it. Sometimes when you install a new version of Office it overwrites shared files that the previous version of Office can't use.

It didn't take me long with OpenOffice to find a "real" Office file which it wouldn't open. Anyway the OP already has Office 2007.

I note there there are two threads on the Forum today with the same error "This app can't run on your PC", both with MS Word.

The user on the other thread said that if they opened Word and then tried to open a document from within Word, it would still work - is this true in this case?

The advice from xunile to remove Office 2013 looks like a good idea- this link may help?

Incidentally I saw some threads on other Forums that suggested disabling Bluetooth helped when they had this error with Office. Is there Bluetooth on the PC/laptop concerned?

hi yes if I open word2007 I can then open my documents that way but it's just abit of a pain and easier just to click on the icon on the desktop. I will try uninstalling 2013 and see if that helps if not ill do 2007 then reinstall and see what happens
