I'm trying to install Microsoft Office starter 2010. I can't install because of the compatibly issues. Got any best answer?

    Short answer- you cant.

Long answer- Starter is only for win7. More importantly, Starter is legally usable only when it comes preinstalled on oem computers preinstalled with win7. So you're also breaching the eula.

I don't see why you couldn't just install one of the more expansive version but limit it to the applications you want. That would work just as well, no?

Because I only usually used Word and Excel, so I only need the starter version. Otherwise, I will need to purchase the full version of Office 2010. That's total waste of money.

Facts will not change because you don't believe me. Office Starter 2010 is NOT available for purchase, it only comes preinstalled. Where did you get the installation file from?

And quite frankly, I don't see how spending $100-$200 would hurt for an absolutely excellent Office suite full of great applications...

You must be a student, Avalon ...

    Buy Office 2010 - Office.com

Maybe it's cheaper in Australia? Keep your lunch money safe, Avalon.
