Store not working

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone could help.

I have been trying to access the store on my computer but it seems to open up then just goes to the start menu.
All that is in the start menu is the Desktop tile, Internet tile and the store tile.

I have tried everything except a reset and its till not working.

I tried to open something else in the store and it came up saying "Windows cannot find 'ms-windows-store:Assoc?protocol=http'. Make sure you have typed the name correctly, and try again"

Any ideas?

How long has it been like this for?

You might see if doing a system restore using a restore point (if available) dated before this started may help.

There was no restore point set. (school boy error)

Do I have to buy a disk?

No need to buy anything. You should be able to refresh Windows 8 as per the tutorial below. Be sure to read the note at the top for what will be affected.
