Previously downloaded apps are now in limbo

I'm still not sure what happened but a few weeks ago all of my tiles disappeared. I did a clean boot, but did not find any issue. I then refreshed my PC, but the problem still persists. All the apps that I had downloaded before 'the disappearance' are in my windows store as 'already installed.' But when I search, they are not installed on my computer. When I swipe down to 'My Apps' in the Windows Store and hit install from that menu, it says 'installing', it completes 'installing' but alas the app is still no where to be found on my computer.
This is only happening for apps that were previously installed before the incident, new apps install fine.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Lee,

I'm using 8. After I posted my original post, I went on a quest to defeat this problem so here is list of everything I have tried thus far: (but the problem persists)

1. Clean boot - found no issues
2. Ran apps troubleshooter - all is said is "display driver adapters may be out of date' but no info beyond that.
3. Cleared store cache
4. Refreshed my PC

Thanks!

Have you attempted to run a Malware app to determine if that could be the problem?

Yes, and there is no malware issues.

Hmmmm! Just cannot figure this one out. Have attempted to recreate your problem in a VM; just cannot seem to accomplish that situation. . .Sorry for not being very helpful. . .
