Cannot access Store

Hi. I have Windows 8 Pro installed as an upgrade from Windows 7.

I cannot log into the Windows Store. I cannot even get to the point where I can log in.

When I click on the Store tile nothing happens.

I had some difficulty earlier and it was suggested that I change my login from a local account to a Windows account. I've done that, but it did not solve the problem of accessing the store.

Please don't bother suggesting that I do a refresh. I have about 200 applications on this machine, many of which were migrated during the upgrade. There is no way I'm rebuilding this computer.

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

This app failed to launch . . .

Hi. Thanks for pointing me to the tutorial.

I've tried most of the recommendations there without any success.

But when I tried to purge the Store cache, I got the following message:

ms-windows:store.PurgeCaches

This app failed to launch because of an issue with its license. Please try again in a moment.

Retrying just produced the same error message.

Can anyone tell me what the license issue might be and how to solve it?

Thanks a lot.

You're welcome.

Usually step 15 would apply for app licensing issues.

Can't access the store to update the license

Hi. My problem is a Catch-22.

I have to update the license to open the Store.

But I have to open the Store to update the license.

There's no way out if that's the only way to update the license.

Do you know of another way to update the license?

FYI, my Windows 8 is activated.

Thanks again for all your advice.

If you haven't already, try the other troubleshooting steps to see if they may help to allow you to reset the license afterwards.
