Broken Tiles

Win 8 has functioned during the 3 months or so I've been using it. However, recently when selecting on of the tiles on the main Start menu the tile logo will show full screen for a second or two then revert back to the Start menu without functioning. One exception is the Desktop tile, it works OK. Each of the others in the main group do not execute their application.

How old is your gpu and is it integrated unit or can you replace it.
My dad's laptop was old windows vista basic unit so finding all drivers was hard, and biggest proplem was that if I would install those vista gpu drivers it would make all metro apps behave same way as do yours.
But with those default drivers from win update work flawlessly with metro apps only down sides that I noticed was that windows would think that laptops screen supports resolutions up to 1980x1200 but in reality it supports only something like 1280x768 or something but not even close of that 1980x1200

So my recommend is that remove all gpu drivers and install new one's from windows update or buy new gpu card.
