I have been using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook from Windows 2003. The program to check compatibility says it is incompatible with Windows 8. I haven't ungraded to newer versions because they have a lot of features for which I have no need, aimed at collaboration and desktop publishing, and they're simply a nuisance.
I write for pleasure and when I write emails I prefer writing them in my word processor, where I can embed photos and handle formatting, and then sending by MS Outlook. My teachers always said I didn't play well with others and now that I'm retired I don't even need to collaborate.
So, what software would you suggest? If I were to get a newer version of MS Office, would my data from Outlook import directly?
I also use the Random House Webster's Unabridged Dictionary and it looks like I might need a replacement for that if anyone knows one.
