What is the deal I had windows 7 with the zune software and now with windows 8 it seems that music I add to my collection I can no longer see it update in the zune program that I added music folders. There is no way to add music from my PC to my windows phone???? I am also on windows phone 7.8... I can add previous music from zune software to my phone. it seem like anything new will not be picked up....
It's a Windows 7 Phone? The apps for that are not compatible with Windows 8 from what I can tell. Totally Different apps OS. But Zune is a part of both of these, you may have to back up the music to your Windows Media Player - If in fact that is what you need to back them up - And then move them to the new Phone using that.

Recently lost my Windows 8 on my main PC, had to go back to Windows 7.
Yes it is a windows 7 phone... the only way to move music to the windows phone 7 was with the zune software. to 'sync' it. I want to know how people with windows 8 phones can transfer music from their PCs to their windows phone. does MS just think you will only be able to add music that you buy through the marketplace?
I just tried something.. I removed the folder that ZUNE watches for updated music folders and I added it back I will see what is in it when Zune syncs it up.
I don't have a collection of bought music in Zune but I do listen to podcasts and these transfer across with no problems for me using

* Zune
* Windows Phone 7.5 (I know it's not quite the same as 7.8 but maybe close enough)?
Can you see/play your music in Zune itself when the phone isn't connected? I wonder if Zune isn't looking in the right place for your music?
One problem I have found is that I can't get Wireless sync to work in Windows 8 - I think you have to use a physical wire.

I have my music on a server //music I just tried to remove it and have zune recompile the music list and a cd I just added does not show up with about 5 others I have recently added to the server. I have other program like j river etc that see them without issue. but I cant sync my music to my windows phone with j river ;(

I'm not on my home PC at the moment so can't check, but I've an idea there is an option within Zune to add Folders to its library. Have you already done this with your //music folder?
