    Windows 8 apps wont open


    Hello. So I'll just get to the point. I can't seem to open any off my apps from the start menu. When I open an app, the app closes back but is available at the sidewindow(?). It doesn't load or anything. When I click it, the app sort of minimizes to the sidewindow(?).

    So I've been lurking around and one of the problems that I thought was happening to me is that I do not have the temporary internet files. C -> Users -> My Name -> AppData -> Local. I read that it should have a windows folder in the local folder and a temporary internet files in the windows folder. So can anyone solve this problem?

    I changed my local user to the microsoft account and then changed back to the local user using another username so that might affect these change in my pc. If it is not the problems, could someone help me solve this?

    Hello Namupa, and welcome to Eight Forums.

    Any Store app that uses a service will most likely need you to be signed in to a Microsoft account to be able to open it. As a test, switch your local account back to a Microsoft account to see if you are able to open them afterwards.

    If not, then go through the app troubleshooting steps in the tutorial below to see if they may be able to help.

    Thanks for replying. But in order for me to change to a mircrosoft account, I need to click the settings tile. But when I click setting, it goes the same as all the unfunctional apps. I cant seem to open anything besides the desktop. So, any other clues?

    Go ahead and see what steps you may be able to do in the troubleshooting tutorial above to see if it may help enough to be able to switch to a Microsoft account.

    If you have not already, restart the PC or explorer to see if explorer may have been "elevated" which could cause this.
