It's not clear what particular change you're trying to make. MSFT Keyboard Layout Creator may help, but it really depends on what you're trying to accomplish.

I use keytweak. working for me in windows 8. version 2.3.0.

I'm using Windows 8/64 v6.2.9200 Build 9200

Hmm .. OK I'll keep trying. I'm using Win8 with a new Notebook (Lenovo X131e Intel) and would like to remap the Windows key to the right Alt. I'll sometimes use this notebok to edit photos with Photoshop and I'm too often hitting the Win key instead of the left Alt with certain Photoshop keyboard shortcut. On my desktop system I map the right Alt as the Windows key and map the Windows key to be a duplicate of the left Alt.

I've done this on numerous Windows 7 (and Vista) systems with no problems. I've also installed StartIsBack v2.1.

I get the impression that Keytweak is being blocked by some security thing. Though I've tried everything I know:

Run as Administrator
Turn off Windows Defender
Turn off UAC

When the system reboots any changes I make are not listed in Keytweak - as if nothing was done ..

It's working now :)

I'm not exactly sure what part of what I just did solved it. But it works now.

I activated the Administrator account (using Windows Tweaker 4.1) and when that didn't work I uninstalled and then reinstalled Keytweak with the Administrator account activated and now it works fine. Perhaps if I had simply uninstalled/reinstalled Keytweak that might have worked too. Whatever --- it now works :)

(I've also deactivated the Admin account and re-enabled Defender, etc.)

Thanks for letting me know that Keytweak worked for you as that got me trying harder to figure out how to get it working here too.

nice to know it's working now! computers can be funky.

I don't advise turning off UAC. but keytweak does run as administrator on my system.

Well, it definitely doesn't work on uninstalling/reinstalling. Am going to try the admin account thing now.
