Weather Metro app not loading

The Metro weather app doesn't load. It just gets past the initial splash screen and stays there. Any suggestions on what to do?

Yeah, I have problems with it too. At first it worked fine (was pretty), but since a couple of days it says that it is not available. Must have been one of the updates that disabled it.

Funny thing is that it shows the local weather on the Start menu tile. But when you click on the tile, there is a message that it is not available. No big deal though. If I want to know what the weather is, I look out of the window - or switch to Win7.

Problem was solved for Weather and News apps after I encountered an unrelated issue- and Windows 8 had to REBUILD my installation. The rebuild wiped out all settings. Apps work fine now. Go figure...but as mentioned above, this is a pre-beta
