Guys, I was looking for a free audio converter and finaly i got it from softpedia. As usual, i checked it with online virus total scan and confirmed that its not harmful in anyway. But when i installed it (the whole process looked suspicious) it gave me error ("app is not responding") and didnt start at all.I immediately uninstalled it.I then ran full scan using Windows Defender and the results were clean. But now whenever i open task manager, some processes are using 95% disk usage.however it comes down and goes up and i have no other apparent problems, but this much disk usage is somethin new to me.I have 411 GB free disk space if that matters. The audio converter I downloaded is called MBS Audio Converter and here is the link if you wish to check it http://www.ordoloc.com/file/mbs_audio_converter.exe I am using Sony Vaio Laptop which came with pre installed windows 8 64bit.Please help me out friends and light me if i am doing something wrong.

Try a System Restore back to a point prior to installing the program. That should remove any potential issues.

That seems to be a popular converter, although I've never used it.

I would also run a full scan with Malwarebytes, the most popular malware/spyware scanner to see if anything is there.

Fireberd is right. Do a system restore.
I never download anyhting via Softpedia or CNet download. The downloader app somehow add something to your PC without you knowing it. I always download free stuff from nsanedown.com
They have a variety of free softwares and applications.

Thanks for your comments guys.fireberd, as you suggested, i installed malware bytes and scanned my lappy but it found nothing.I also found out that it was windows defender process (Antimalware Service Executable) which was using 95% disk space (even though no scans were being performed).Didnt find any third party process at all.just windows processes and system processes. This is what it looks like in task manager.... BACKGROUND PROCESSES (44) WINDOWS PROCESSES (22). However, in the list of windows processes there are 10 processes which begin with the same name: "Service Host". is this normal?
