App to view Google Calender?

My entire schedule is on Google Calendar. I've recently purchased a new laptop, and I'm now using Windows 8.

So far, I'm loving Windows 8! Can't believe how fast it boots up from completely off, from sleep, how fast apps launch...

One issue I'm having is, I'd love a Metro app to view my schedule, which is on Google Calendar. Not interested in moving all of my appointments... if there isn't a Metro app, any other suggestions or do I need to simply continue to go to Google from my browser?

If you import your Google calendar into your Outlook.com / Windows Live / Hotmail calendar (if you have one, that is) you can then see it in the Windows 8 Calendar App

Create an outlook account using your gmail account and sync your google calendar with outlook.

Well, unless I'm mistaken, I can import my Google calendar, but once I add an appointment to Google Calendar, it won't show up in Outlook until/unless I resync Outlook!

Not very convenient... or am I mistaken?

Hard to believe that Microsoft didn't think that it might be a good idea to have a way for users of Google Calendar to be able to quickly view their schedule!

Well, it looks like new appointments, added to Google Calendar (from the Google Calendar website) won't show up in an already imported Google Calendar in the Windows 8 calendar app. From what I can tell from reading about it, it's ultimately Google's fault.

I'll probably switch back to using Outlook 2013 with an add-in called gSyncit to tie my calendars and contacts together. Too bad, I liked using the Modern UI mail and calendar apps...

Edit: Changed my mind. I'm going to exclusively use my Outlook.com calendar and contacts. Both my Google and Outlook.com calendars have the same info in them now, so going forward with just the Outlook.com one will not be an inconvenience, and I can keep using the Modem UI apps.
