Solved Itunes syncing problems

Hi folks, I'm having problems syncing new purchases on my new laptop with iTunes. Anyone else having issues and if so, were you able to resolve it. My PC is "authorized" but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

First of all when I plug the pod into the pc, it loads up iTunes fine but will not go automatically into sync mode. When I manually try syncing things, the sync is very quick but, my purchases do not appear in the ipod. On my previous pc the sync function would encompass 4 different modes before completion, on my new one there is only one, again without the required sync.
