I have windows media center running as my HTPC and have installed the WMC netflix app. However the app runs with limited functionality. It only loads a small number of my instant queue, wont give me options to add movies to my queue when I select a movie, it doesn't display episodes in a series, plus a few other things.

I have two other windows 8 machines with WMC+netflix installed and they both work just fine with all the normal abilities. I have uninstalled the wmc netflix app and re-installed but it didn't help. This is especially annoying as the bug is occurring on my main HTPC.

Any help is appreciated!

did you try reinstalling WMC and reconfiguring its settings? are your security settings and software different between the machines?

also, did you try out the Modern Netflix app? it has a lot of functionality that the WMC version or the web browser version don't have.

However, the aspect which stands out immediately is the fact that the video playback bitrate can go as high as 3.85 Mbps. Audio still remains at a lowly 64 kbps. Hopefully, a future update to the Netflix app can provide us with the soundtracks available on specialized media streamers.

The graph presents some very interesting results. With Windows 8, the system consumes much less power and the stream is also of higher quality. GPU acceleration in the app makes the streaming more than 30% efficient when compared to the Silverlight version. Compared to Windows 7 Silverlight, the Netflix app is efficient by approximately 35%. Windows 8, by itself, seems to consume less power too. Considering these results, if Netflix forms any part of your HTPC usage scenario, it is a no-brainer to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8.

with the Modern app, you get subtitles and alternate audio on select titles or 5.1 Surround Sound if the title has it as well as up to 1080P video. Also, the Modern version supports the highest bitrates that Netflix offers and offers the new Super HD streaming (in a limited number of markets though).

I tried the re-install and no go. The security settings between machines are the same. To be honest I prefer to use the Modern Net Flix app, the only reason I am sticking with the WMC version is because of remote support.

Any other ideas?
