You have to wait until Microsoft releases the Beta / RTM. It maybe a while until it comes out. The version that release now is a Pre-beta version for developers so they can start building software before the full version comes out.

Windows Media Center is located at %windir%\ehome\ehshell.exe on my installation of the Consumer Preview.

It also listed in the All Apps version of the Start Screen. Just in case you haven't discovered this yet...Right click a blank area of the Metro Start Screen and click All Apps in the pop up bar at the bottom. Windows Media Center's short cut is listed under Windows Accessories. Have fun!!!

Also I should mention that if you have a Media Center remote for your PC, it works perfectly with this version.

you need to request a key to download Windows Media Center and if you register the key before January 31, 2013, it's free. otherwise, you'll have to buy it:

Using VLC instead of media center.
VLC is a free Linux program, and works very fine for playing DVDs and a lot of other things, so there is no need to buy Mediacenter. In some ways it works even better.

Media Center to see micro SDXC as part of Media Library?
OKAY. I have a Surface Pro with 128 GB storage so I want to conserve space by using my 64 GB micro SDXC card which is seen as a removeable drive. It is so small and sticks into the pro to where you can't see it. It does not stick out so I just leave it in there all the time. How would I get...
