Why does everyone laugh at Bing? I personally love Bing!!! There are so many more options and it works great for me! Why do many people dislike Microsofts programs? IE & Bing?

I like Bing. sometimes its results are great. sometimes something I really wanted was on page 3 of Bing but not until page 11 in Google.

however, that said, as a search engine, until Bing has a date filter, it's not as useful as Google. sometimes Bing has a date filter option and sometimes it doesn't. which is the weirdest thing. it's like they're beta testing it or something.

Bing Images is amazing though. so amazing that Google added some of its features to Google Images. like they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

True, and even with the Bing date filter, it's just last Day, Week, Month & Year, same with Startpage.com. Whereas with Google, you can specify the exact to and from dates.

Also Bing doesn't have HTTPS or Streetview (although Bing Birdseye view is excellent).

Hello, Joe. Welcome to EightForums. It's good to have you aboard. :)

I like Bing, IE, Defender, Office, Bing 3D maps, and a lot of MS products. I would consider myself a "purist" when it comes to systems, especially maintenance programs. I think a lot of users have problems due to 3rd party crap, especially AV. MS has changed come a long way in that department.

I wish MS would come out with a registry cleaner, though. Could never understand that. After all, they did create the registry. I'm happy with the free CCleaner for now.

Bing is my IE homepage. I'm already signed in since I use my Live account to sign into my PC. Searching also gives me Bing rewards that are collected. About once a month I cash them in. A great way to donate and purchase things.

I've performed the Bing/Google challenge they have from time to time. Bing has just as good if not better search results. Not every time, but most. I agree they need to work on and keep the date filter. It could be improved.

I downloaded and installed Bing desktop. Daily pics are quite amazing and I learn something new on that topic daily.

Again, welcome. Thanks for posting this topic.

For me, Bing just came long after Google became force of habit. Google does what I need, so I simply stick with it.

I think it because they know its really not a necessary tool ,as cleaning the registry does nothing for windows performance, just saying , don't have facts to back that up ,just that's what i always read over the years .

Ok. Not all that savvy myself. What I know of it the registry is that after time of installing and uninstalling software that the registry gets to be rather large due to the fact that crappy written uninstall programs leave unwanted data behind, therefore taking more time to search the registry. Another is that some programs break it with ill code and needs to be fixed.

It seems to me I have no problems when I maintain my system regularly and it runs quicker as well.

okay, today, was working on a project for a school and needed a bunch of images specifically of the student-athletes of this school. bing totally destroyed google for this project. normally, that's not the case. it's usually neck and neck with a win here, a win there. images is where google really needs to catch up to bing. for general search, bing really needs the date filter to really work like google.

Hi All,

When Bing came out I first ignored it and for some time even did not think about it. Then, one day somebody asked me about the Kim Kardashian video and if I ever saw that. I never did but I was curious enough to see if I could find it and on Google I could not so I tried Bing and at Bing it was all over the place, by then I realized Google was "censored" so I tried different search terms from al different sort's and believe me google is censored.

Since then I am a B(ing)liever and google is out the door!!

:)
