Confusing Calendar

When I started checking out the calendar APP it was completely blank. Then I added one event onto it. I went back later and it was gone. So I added it again. But now the calendar shows everything such as holidays along with my events that I list. That's not the problem. The problem is there is double everything. One blue and one red for every holiday.

Also this is a different problem. How come if I go to check the weather, then get on my desktop, I will go to type something and the screen will switch to the weather EVERY TIME when I am in the middle of doing something.
