Cannot Find App Version of Internet Explorer Browser

Hey guys I'm new here, so I apologize if this has been asked before.

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga with Windows 8, and I decided to unpin the internet browser app because I was more used to browsing while in desktop mode.

Now that I use my ultrabook as a pad more often, I feel like it would be easier to use the app version. Only problem is that I cannot find it anymore, even when I search the computer.

When I try to add it again on the store I still cannot find it.

Does anyone know what the next step is in finding this app?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you!

Try this, move your mouse and hover bottom left corner, click it and on Start screen right click mouse, select all apps in bottom right side and you should see IE there and pin it back to start screen.

Let me know if that works.

Hey, I think this might be your problem. You can only ever have either the app internet explorer or the desktop internet explorer pinned to the start menu (or be able to be found from search). If you have the desktop version pinned there (and comes up when you search) this means that you have a different browser as your default browser. An obscurity of Windows 8 is that you cant use the 'metro' version while a different browser is the default. Search 'default programs' and then find internet explorer in the list, and make it the default. The desktop IE tile on your start screen should now turn into the 'metro' IE tile. If you had no IE tile pinned then search for IE and it should be the metro version now. You can then pin it to the start screen.

To access the desktop version you have to now open it from the task bar in the desktop. Or while browsing in the app, right click (or swipe down from top) then hit the wrench icon and there should be an option to view in desktop mode.
