I use the Classic Shell but now and then I would like to get to the Start Screen. Is there a way to do that without using the not so charming charms?

Thank you.

In Classic Shell settings there should be an option for a ''shift-left'' click to switch without using Charms if I'm not mistaken.

You should be able to get there by just pressing the 'Windows' key.

Miauu!! I think you just solved one of my mysteries.

I've found that sometimes I'll be doing something and then.... POOF!.... I'm shot back to the Metro screen for no apparent reason.

I do alot of hovering. It's arguably what I do best. (people think it's creepy, which is why I compute)

So now I see that it's just a setting I need to change, rather than my PC judging me. NICE!!!

What I need to know now is where is this control?

Thanks!!

The Win key all by itself, when clicked from the desktop view, should always take you to Metro Start unless Classic Shell reconfigured it. In which case, there's probably a Classic Shell setting to change it back. The standard operation for the Win key is to toggle you between Metro Start and whatever app you were running last. From Metro Start's perspective, the desktop looks like an app.
