Export your calendar to an ICS file then log into your email account through a web browser, go to your calendar there and import the ICS file. The calendar app will sync the changes.
In my Calendar window, I can't find the option for importing. I only see a calendar for the current month, the Search/Share/Start/Devices/Settings menu on the right, and Day/Week/Month/Today/New view option on the bottom.
If I right-click I don't get a menu.
How do I navigate to the place where I can do Import?
The web site that I referenced says that I can import a static calendar via ics file, but it does not seem to detail how to do that, and I can't find such an option in the Calendar app.
Not in your Calendar App, you said the link you found on how to do it doesn't actually describe how to do it but it does...click the "To Import Calendar" link on the instructions to expand out the details. It will describe how to import your calendar while logged into your account through the web browser, once you do that your Calendar app will sync those changes.
Ah, thanks. Apparently, I was getting confused between the scenarios described.
I know have the ics file imported.
I see my calendar info in the calendar.live.com version of the calendar, within my browser, although I still don't see my calendar info within the Windows 8 Calendar app.
Maybe I misunderstand the relationship of the two: calendar.live.com vs PC app.
The Windows 8 App should sync to what your Live.com calendar has, provided of course the account you have setup in the Windows 8 App is the one you imported the calendar to. I just imported Canada Holidays into mine and after a couple of minutes they showed up in my Windows 8 Calendar App.
