Aomei Backuper.

Does everything you need. Image Drives/System/Partitions.

Full/Differential/Incremental.

Image mounting. Scheduling.

Creates Winpe recovery media - no need for WAIK/WADK download. Native 64 pe too.

Don't know how long it will be free. Worth getting it while you can.

Backuper

AOMEI's free data backup software for disk, partition, system and file backup & recovery for Windows Oss.

Worth noting is that this "free" present requires you to put in your email address before they send you a link to download the software.

They claim it's free for personal as well as commmercial use and it works on Server based OS's too (Server 2008, 2008R2, and 2012).

The partitioning program has been around a while. It's pretty good .

Drive imager is new. I have only done limited testing of Backuper - it's doing well so far. Easy to use , great interface, small, fast , decent compression.

Aomei are fine if you haven't heard of them.

If you don't want to give an email address, here: Backuper.exe

Anybody else tried this yet?

I may start recommending it as the best free imaging program from my experience so far.

Saw your post about this on Seven Forums and decided to download it. I have Partition Assitant Pro and really like it, so Backuper is worth a try IMHO.

It's still a free download and you don't have to provide an email address now to download. At least I was able to download a copy today from a machine without it.

I'm trying it out today. I like to have a disk imager program for some things at work, but most of the apps (Macrium included) are only free for personal use.

AOMEI is also free for commercial use...And it works with Server 2008/2012...which is quite nice for some uses.

I'm comparing some backup times and sizes between Macrium 5, Acronis 2010 and AOMEI today. Thus far, Acronis and AOEMI seem in the same ballpark on the time front. I didn't break out the stopwatch, but they were in the 5-8 minute range. On the test I ran with default compression, the AOMEI backup came in at 22,047,348 and the Acronis Backup was 22,931,425...while Macrium came in at 21,565,185.

I didn't check speed and compression - they seemed fine. Great that it is free, has a simple interface, and makes pe without waik/wadk.

I'm using this software at work now and it hasn't let me down yet. It's free, even for commercial use. It can be scheduled and it can do file and folder backups as well as images. And it can do diferential and incremental backups. And it's nice to be able to easily make the Windows PE disk without having to download and install the WAIK.

This is now the software that I recommend to friends who need to make an image.
