It's been posted once here several months ago, but it didn't draw much attention, even though it's a great application.
7Stacks lets you add stacks of shortcuts to a pinned item on your task bar, you can easily create "menus" containing strictly what you need, nothing more. So it can become a great alternative to Modern UI or traditionnal start menus. It's very simple, light and customizable. The "menu" points to a folder, displaying all the shortcuts (and more) that it contains, so editing a stack is really easy.
Here's a few screenshots :
^ I like this last setup, there are as many icons here (70) than on 3 screens worth of Modern UI (scrolling).
