Hi -
I recently purchased an HP ProBook 4540s laptop with Windows 8 64-bit installed. I have the touchpad set up to do two-finger vertical and horizontal scrolling/panning. It basically works. However, some apps don't. For example, I went to the Metro app store and downloaded a cookbook program. The program presented a bunch of choices in an array that went off the screen to the right. The touchpad would not pan in this program at all. I had to use the mouse pointer to go down to the small + sign and click across which was quite tedious.
I'm assuming MS store apps have to pass some usability test? Why would this not work? Seems like a critical function in Windows 8 for a laptop/desktop to be able to easily swipe for horizontal movement.
