Truesync Desktop problem

I had truesync desktop running in windows 7 (have it that way on several machines) and updated to windows 8 about a week ago and truesync worked fine.

This afternoon my computer (Lenovo B320 64 bit) froze up and I had to power down.

Restarted and truesync would not open. Tried all sorts of things, finally uninstalled it and tried to reinstall. Ever since I get a message - this installation has detected another installation or uninstallation that requires you to reboot - have rebooted numerous times. Ran regedit and removed all refs to Starfish the company that makes truesync and all refs to truesync and still get the same message.

Have tried running setup as admin and numerous compatibility modes - still get the message.

Any thoughts?

thanks

System restore back to a time before your problem began. If all seems OK superficially, investigate whether True Sync might somehow be the problem, and uninstall it if so.

I just finished restore back and it worked.

I have tried to find an information manager as good as this one and they all fail when compared, so have been nursing this one along for several years :)

Will have to give it up someday but sure hate to!

thanks for your suggestion, that thought came to me just after posting :-( should have thought a little longer.

I am trying to run Truesync Desktop on Windows 7 but haven't succeeded. Does anyone have a download that would solve my problem?

Thanks.

I've found on the net that a lot of folks have had problems installing to the default directory. Many find installing to c:\ works best. Be sure to uninstall what you have first.

I just fought it on 7 on my wife's rig and went right in at c:\

Which version were you installing? In particular, is the one you succeeded in installing available for download anywhere?

Thanks.

You could google for truesync desktop and see. My version came with a rex card data storage I think, years ago. There was a newer version on the web few years ago though could not see any difference.
