Hi, I upgraded from Windows 8 Release Preview to Windows 8 Pro via the MS download option. I chose the Keep Nothing option.

The install was great and I got a Windows.old folder.

I then did a Disk Cleanup which deleted my Windows.old folder.

But now when I right click in the Start Menu then click the All Apps button, all I get is a blank canvas?

I can see apps like calc.exe, notepad.exe and mspaint.exe etc. in the Windows folder, so why are they not showing up?

I had this problem. It was a Windows Update that broke it. Go to Windows Update and uninstall update package KB 2756872. Reboot and all will work correctly.
