Solved Apps not load when clicked - ok on home screen

Hi. I upgraded my Windows 7 to Windows 8 a couple of days ago, and whatever I do, I can't get any of the new UI apps to load when clicked on. They are showing info in the tiles on the home screen, but when I click on them to open them fullscreen, I just get a full screen colour, with the app logo, and a 'loading' graphic at the top of the screen (the rotating dots thing). The apps never finish loading. They dont close down or anything, just sit there doing nothing.

I've tried creating a fresh user, rather than my Win 7 admin user, but same happens for that user too.

Any ideas?

Hello Yogurspy, and welcome to Eight Forums.

It has been reported that if you had any 3rd party security programs (AV/firewall) installed when you upgraded to Windows 8, that uninstalling/reinstalling or updating them to the latest version should fix this issue.

Hope this helps, :)
Shawn

Thanks, I use Kaspersky. I had to re-install it after upgrading, but following your advice I uninstalled, and re-installed and now the apps seem to be working ok.

Cheers.
