I have a few programs that aren't starting up when I boot into Windows 8 Pro x64 (final):
3 programs I made myself (very simple, uses registry key for starting at boot)
CleanMem Free
Peerblock
RealTemp
I've tried placing them into the startup folder (AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup), and that doesn't work. I have Windows Defender disabled and my antivirus isn't blocking them at all. Just in case this helps at all, I'm using Stardock Start8 v1.00 (latest).
EDIT > Just started using Task Scheduler and that works (the only thing I've found that works), so I'm marking this as resolved. Reference to posts #14 & #15 in this thread. (#14 could help developers trying to get their applications to start at boot - I've not tested it.)
