My internet is working perfect and every other app is working just fine but this app refuses to load. I have tried reseting, updating, about everything in the book and still no signs of progress. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? Also maps refuses to find locations even when i type them in!

Is your internet connection working otherwise?

Double check your network connections and settings to make sure that they are all setup properly for your network.

Any one know of app settings in control panel? Is it possible to reinstall the app store? As in full remove it and all its contents then reinstall. Or would it be a PC refresh?

As far as the Store is concerned, I believe that the problem is at MS’s end—possibly an over load or some other problem. I, too, am having problems and I know that I don’t have an internet connection problem. When I try to get to the Store, most of the time I get the “ We weren’t able to connect….” message. Occasionally I do get to the Store—not very often but occasionally. When I do get there and try to download an app I get a message stating that it can’t be done right now. I don’t remember the exact wording. That’s why I think that it’s at their end. But I’m not sure. Would anyone agree with that?

Hello Frank,

That could be with as many people having this issue.

It's also been reported that folks will need to uninstall any 3rd party antivirus and security programs, then reinstall them. Something about having them installed when doing the upgrade to Windows 8 is causing issues.

this was the refresh method, It may say it deletes unnecessary programs but that means everything. Luckly my Vaio had a super factory reset where i was able to get all my basic Sony programs back but other than that I lost everything without any real warning. Be prepared to refresh especially if it isnt a new computer and you have lots of programs running on it.

I use AVG antivirus and firewall I turned off the firewall and all worked, the store weather maps everything, when I turn firewall back on all stops working. On the desktop section everything works with firewall on.

This was a new laptop, came with Win 8. I was about to give up yesterday, never seeing anything beyond the little circle that just kept circling. I thought I might have to perform a Windows refresh. This morning, after thinking about it for a few seconds, the App Store came alive. All is well, thank you all for your suggestions.

Same with me and I have tried several suggestions except to refresh. I will use that one as a last resort.

Try changing your DNS servers. That is what fixed most of the problems I was having.

If you can't find where to change them, and the program DNS Jumper works very well.
