    Configuring METRO Tiles

    Hi All

Silly question time, is there a way of setting options on the Metro style tiles to say use different providers for the default news and sports news etc or to govern where and what they point to?

Hello dlands, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Each Store app, like a desktop program, will have it's own settings. In some Store apps, you can right click on, swipe down from top, swipe up from bottom, or open the "Settings" charm while the app is open to make changes to it's settings, permissions, etc....

For the News app, you could right click on or swipe down from top to be able to select Sources to then select the source of news you like but it doesn't appear to be a way to change what displays on the live tiles other than the default Bing.

    Hope this helps some,

    Hi Shawn

is that picture actually from a PC !!! -- looks more like a mobile phone type of device. !!!!!!

seems some of us have different ideas of what computers should actually do these days.

Nothing wrong with some of these apps but do they really belong on a "Classical PC" desktop rather than a tablet / smartphone.

    Hello Jimbo,

Yes, that screenshot was taken from within the "Metro" News app in Window 8 Pro RTM.

Windows 8 is a blend of both desktop and mobile/touch, so Windows 8 would not just be a "Classic PC" desktop anymore.

If you like news tile updates, then it can be just as useful on the desktop as a mobile device.
