Continues Errors at startup "Metadata staging failed"

It looks like the last error I had for that event happened at 6:30 pm on 1/26..... Maybe I haven't done whatever is causing the errors, but it stopped before and started back up.

Continues Errors at startup "Metadata staging failed"

This has been going on for many months. It was repaired just before one update and then it started again. Since Microsoft does not seem to care I suppose I don't. It would be really unnerving if it was discovered these errors are actually causing system problems.

Solved EaseUS Partition Manager and Windows 10 upgrade

The software has had the problem for quite some time. We can always hope someone at that company finally realized the problem and corrected it, but I have not tested. As long as you know about the problem and how to correct it, you should be OK. I just won't use it. I don't think it has an...

Unable to install Windows 8.1 after a mobo/cpu replacement

Just to confirm, you are using the x64 version of the Install DVD since there may be a 32 and 64 bit DVD? The SSD was clean before you started the install? If there is only one bootable device, the DVD, it should boot to the Install window. If it is not doing that possibly it is seeing...

    ASUS windows 8 recovery problem

A Windows 8 original system probably has the License Key in the UEFI bios. It can be obtained and explained in some threads here or the Windows 10 forums. You will need to install Windows 8 in UEFI mode, more than likely, and what version of 8 did you have originally? What do you mean by the...

Solved Recovery on New HDD using Recovery Partition copy on USB

The process you are describing needs some information filled in. For instance, when you make a Recovery Drive the contents of the large Recovery partition are copied over to the USB drive. Because it is formatted as FAT32, the image itself is broken into smaller units. If you have a UEFI...

Can I recover RAW data folder from a micro SD card?

As you may already understand, there can be situations where files are not visible on a drive but are still there. For instance, if I used the Diskpart Clean command, it will erase the File Allocation Table and the drive appears empty. But you can recover those files if done correctly and they...

Solved Will win 10 upgrade always be available??

Well, you seem to be looking at upgrading to Windows 10 and then reverting that machine back to Windows 8.1. If you revert via the rollback does it invalidate the Windows 10 activation. If you revert using an image does that invalidate the Windows 10 activation.... If you revert using an...

Solved Minitool Partition Wizard Error Resizing User Disk

You may have a situation where there is some unmovable file in the last 500 MB, assuming you have room for shrinking the partition otherwise. Someone had a utility to check for such things, but I don't remember what it was. Have you tried shrinking the partition in Windows and what did it say?

Windows 8.1 Always Blue Screen at Startup(Troubleshooting)

Having a recovery drive or the install media for an OS is always a good idea. If nothing else, you can get into the Command Prompt to run certain utilities. As far as I can tell, you never indicated your system had been upgraded from Windows 8. If that is the case, then what you are...

Windows 8.1 Always Blue Screen at Startup(Troubleshooting)

Powered off just means shut it down before you start. The system boots differently depending if it is a restart or a cold boot.

Windows 8.1 Always Blue Screen at Startup(Troubleshooting)

From the messages you are getting, I get the impression the system is attempting to reset to an Older OS from a newer OS. Whether it might be 8 and 8.1 or 8.1 and 10 is uncertain currently. When did the problem first start regarding the please wait messages? You are saying it will not allow...

Windows 8.1 Always Blue Screen at Startup(Troubleshooting)

A situation like yours is always hard to troubleshoot. But one thing we need to clear up is what you mean by "RESET". Are you referring to a Windows process or OEM boot key option. Was this an 8 to 8.1 upgrade? Any chance it had tried to upgrade to Windows 10? You don't have any recovery...

Full Screen Game(s) Move/Re-organize Desktop Icons

Icons will move around if the Display Resolution is being changed. Perhaps looking at the Resolution while the games are in full screen mode might be something to check. If you can set them the same as the normal resolution, it might help.

Can no longer boot past my BIOS

You might try disconnecting the Hard Drive. Normally you should be able to use F12 at boot and go directly to a Boot DVD or USB, assuming they work. If the hard drive is having a problem, it may be messing the system up.

PC Doesn't Boot. No Beep - No Display - CPU Fan spins

Have you changed anything inside? Any chance the 4 pin power cable was dislodged? New CPU .. maybe? I would probably disconnect all devices and see if you can even get into the bios.

Solved Dell Windows 8 recovery disk does not read product key

If they replaced your motherboard, they may have given you a plastic holder with paperwork which contains the new License Key. I have some experience since they have replaced the motherboard on my system twice, in home. I do not know if the replacement motherboard actually contains an embedded...

Solved msconfig boot settings sat to safe mode, forgot password

You need to run bcdedit from an Administrative Command prompt. It will give that message if run from a normal command prompt. The original question was how to get out of Safe Boot mode. You have forgotten your password also? If you have it, use msconfig from Safe Mode to reset the normal...

Using Diskpart to clean Volume 1 and now shows nothing

For future reference, if all you did was use the Clean command from Diskpart, you can recover the drive. Using something like Partition Wizard will allow you to recover the partitions. http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/31950-partition-recover-deleted-partitions-windows.html
