ow my mistake i actually dont have that update

it does not seem to be running at this moment as i have it in safe mode

ok so yeah that update has been installed but when i tried to uninstall it it came up with this msg the windows installer service could not be accessed. this can occur if the windows installer is not correctyl installed i uninstalled a voice com though and it worked fine.

ok so after the dism it came up with this error: 0x800f0906 the source file could not be downloaded. use the source option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature.

hmm thats odd because im not getting any type or % tracker of sorts "edit" its actually doing it now and stuck on 20% as you said :dinesh: will update once its finished. again thanks for the help

i ran the dism and it replied (deployment images servicing and managment tool version :6.3.9600.17031 not really sure what this means but it did not fix anything

So windows 8 was trying to install an update like it does every couple days but kept failing and undoing changes, this process had become very annoying due to this being a new laptop, anyway yesterday the update failed but the computer stopped working so i had to switch it off. i turned it back...
