So far i have tried to install windows on my HDD but it wont detect my HDD unless i plug it in as an external where it tells me it cant install to my HDD because its a GPT disk . I have tried using refresh your pc option with my HDD plugged into the board & it tells me " the drive where...

Okay i have made a DVD but it wont detect my hard drive as an area to install windows when i plug it in to the board itself . I can plug it in as an external drive & it will detect it but it wont let me install to there due to it being a " GPT disk " .

Sorry for the delay i had to wait for an external drive to get here & to get DVDs to burn . I have burned the dvd and tried to do start up repair but it just tells me start up repair couldnt repair your pc :(

Okay i think im gonna go ahead and do that , everyone in the thread is recommending that i do so .

you might be right because thats all i was getting for a while and i was wondering why it didnt take me straight to bios .

} Thank you KYHI i thought it posted the pic but i guess not , it was basically a picture of the samsung logo and a bar at the bottom that just shows what i press to get into bios or for recovery . i tried to do so but it doesn't take me to any bios at all no matter which F keys i try even using...

hmm im not sure , i didnt try i was thinking i'd mess up the drive by hot plugging it . if that doesn't go well should i just wipe the drive & reinstall windows 8 ?

I believe i can do so . My only current issue is since it now boots from the HD i can only boot from CDs if i disconnect the HD from the laptop board itself . would it be wise to buy an HD enclosure so i can plug up the HD to the laptop via usb and work on it then connect it back to the board...
