I am using ie desktop version. Even with chrome and Firefox the emails can not be opened.

I have used gmail for 5 years in ie, chrome or Firefox and windows vista, 7 and 8. after upgrading to 8.1 gmail will load but individual mails will not open. I can read mail in windows mail but as I monitor 2 gmail accounts it is not convenient to use. any fixes?
