    Actually, I don't believe Linux requires a primary partition for instalation, you can install it on a logical partition within an extended partition.

    OK, good then. My BIOS is capable of RAID, ATA and ACPI. Set in RAID even though I don't have any active arrays. Read that automatically goes to ACPI if no array. So ok with that.
