The Microsoft apps have a "X" in the lower right corner of the tile. how do i fix this

i have no idea how to fix the x's in the corner of the apps. had to contact the pc maker to get them to fix them because NONE of them worked after the last batch of updates.

theirs nothing on the web on how to fix this. this happened after i installed updates last night and ever since i cant seem to fix it. the updates completely erased all of my system restore points i had made.

Fresh install of windows 8.1 still 100% stock

Brand New Dell XPS 8700 Windows 8.1. I Have had it for less than 2 weeks.
