I have a thumbdrive that I'd like to password protect. It looked like BitLocker would fit the bill but it's not on my Windows 8.1 PCs. It's apparently only on the "pro" versions. I don't find BitLocker in the Store either. Please suggest a simple alternative. Thank you!

I couldn't find anything about a forced 8-->8.1 push. I only see stuff about those that have 8.1 having to accept a certain update.

I have a year-old Desktop with Windows 8 and a 3 day old laptop, also with Windows 8. Everything is working perfectly (network, etc., all stable) Should I upgrade to 8.1? The desktop nags about it about once per week. I've heard horror stories after upgrade, though, so I just don't know.
