My ISP sent me a combo modem/wireless router. I already have a Netgear 45 wireless router working well. I normally use a desktop that does not have a wireless card. My laptop does have a card. Am I better off just using the ISP modem/router or should I use both ?

I bought 8.1 because of a bogus win 8 install. I've read, and listened to, all the horror stories about Win 8. Personally, I see little difference between 7 and 8.1. Need to hit an extra button here and there, but it seems fairly intuitive to me. To each his own, but I don't have a need to...

Appreciate the response. No recovery disk is available nor is there a recovery partition. The current install is bogus. It is a volume license key that expires in six months. I have the key, etc, but I would like a clean install using the OEM 8.1 that I purchased.
