@chev65 I've done the reboot and it still won't detect the cable. The new router is a belkin DB N600 F9J1102v1. @tomerello It doesn't seem that this laptop has a led indicator for the ethernet.

So the DISM was successful but the ethernet cord will still not be displayed as plugged in.
