Massive issues with new build. (Windows 8.1 x64)

Yep, that is baffling. Make sure your power supply unit is providing enough power to the board. Other than that, I'll keep looking around, but someone smarter than me is probably going to need to check this thread out.

Massive issues with new build. (Windows 8.1 x64)

Not sure if you tried this yet, but consider uninstalling the graphics driver, and use this tutorial to remove all traces of it. It does offer to go into the registry to further remove bits and pieces, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you know a lot about it. Here it is: How to: Remove Your...

Massive issues with new build. (Windows 8.1 x64)

Here is a (unfortunately) complicated method for troubleshooting update problems: Unable to install Windows Update for Windows 8 for x64-based Systems - Microsoft Community Sometimes Malware can cause issues. Check to make sure you only have one antivirus installed, and use it for a full scan...

Massive issues with new build. (Windows 8.1 x64)

Hey mate, From what I can tell, MSI provides drivers for two motherboards similar to the one you named: X99A Gaming 7 and X99S Gaming 7... which one is yours? What I would do in your situation, is to make sure you have the right board in mind, go to the MSI website and only install drivers...

Intel MEI (Management Engine Interface) Prob. with driver

Just the yellow icon displayed for problem devices. The computer has been up for a while, but I noticed that problem because it has been having some problems shutting down completely. Still working on that particular problem though. The chipset is installed and working, also.

Intel MEI (Management Engine Interface) Prob. with driver

Hey all, The motherboard I'm working with is an ASUS H97M-E, and the latest driver for the Intel MEI (Management Engine Interface) is currently installed from the ASUS support website. However, in device manager, there appears to be a problem with it. I can't figure it out. The driver...

    Latest Version of Malwarebytes

I'm using it on a few computers, and I've not had trouble. I do have a question though... I was using EMET 5.2, and realized there may be some overlap in protection. Do both pretty must do the same thing? I hear Mbae is a bit better than EMET...? So far I have them both running.

    Latest Version of Malwarebytes

Just heard about Mbae. Sounds really good, but I have a couple cluggers. It doesn't slow anything down at all, huh? Think I'll give it a try! :)

A newer computer crashes, wont remain shutdown

Thanks. I don't know much about dumps haha. Maybe I can artificially make it crash, wonder if that would help. I'll keep searching for a solution and post here if I find anything. Thanks again

A newer computer crashes, wont remain shutdown

So before, the debugging write info was listed as automatic memory dump (new to windows 8 and default), but I changed it to complete. It crashed again, but I still don't see a dump being included. I'm using John's DM Log collector Tool, So I think what it is is not an official 'crash'... the...

Outlook 2013 'safe' email marked incorrectly as spam/junk

Hey everyone, I appreciate any help with this. We're moving from one email server to another using google apps, all while using outlook 2013. During the transition (and after, if we can set it up), we have our old server forwarding email to our new email addresses. So old@oldmailserver.com...

A newer computer crashes, wont remain shutdown

Updated in post # 5 Hey everyone, I work at a small company, and sometimes try to figure out what is wrong with some of their computers just to help out. This particular one is having problems exacerbated by our newly installed ESET antivirus. A perfect match of this computer in hardware has...

    Eset Antivirus conflicts with programs?

Hey all, My business installed an Eset antivirus suite on all computers. There are many computers, but two clients use the same exact type of computer. On one of these, a specific account performs just fine (fast even) until windows explorer or the start menu is used, then it freezes. When I...

Solved Hard drive file recovery - the best method goes to...?

I think it is fried. I can't even get it back up on computer management, and diskpart can't find it. It is also making clicking sounds, which I didn't notice earlier. I think it is safe to say that it is history. Thanks all for the help, though!

Solved Hard drive file recovery - the best method goes to...?

Recuva failed to scan or recover any files from the troubled drive (I did use deep scan). Its reason was that it could not determine the file system type (none). :(

Solved Hard drive file recovery - the best method goes to...?

It doesn't appear to allow me to change it's letter, but I am able to do so with my working drives. I may give recuva a try... EaseUS Data Recovery only allows up to 2GB data recovery, and I have a whole drive of files to recover, and I have no idea how much space the files take up. But...
