    Sleep password protection won't turn off!

    I'm having the opposite problem and it's extremely annoying. I want a password prompt after my computer sleeps. I never had this problem with Windows 7 or 8.0 but this cropped up in 8.1. I'm perplexed that there are multiple control panels that do the same thing.

    That is just a driver, and I believe it's already part of Windows 8 update. The control center still fails to launch. In time, it will be fixed.

    How to quit those Metro Apps

    Haven't used Windows 8 much but in the latest version you can just drag your cursor to the top left corner and fully close apps there. With that said, do all these background apps hog up memory? If this 'suspend' mode works, I probably won't bother closing apps.
