Just ran ATF Cleaner after using the standard CCleaner [without CCenhancer] and it found an additional 38 MB of crap. Not much I guess but it doesn't hurt to run ATF Cleaner, it's quite quick.

Hey Brooklyn, I am basically in the same situation as the OP, I installed an SSD and put windows 8 on that and moved the HDD into the second drive bay of the laptop [it has 2 drive bays], but left the HDD as was, it also has WIndows 8 on it, thats how I got it from DELL, meaning I didn't delete...

Thanks Brink, however I guess I still don't know why [1] The Disk cleanup keeps pausing 2/3 of the way through when cleaning the System Restore and Shadow Copies option and [2] why it did not respond when I ran DISM /Scanhealth command. I think I may leave it for now and not worry about it too...

The Windows 8 Built-in "disk cleanup". Nothing else was running that I know would have interfered with the clean-up process. I have noticed it has happened on a few occassion at about the same point.
