Microsoft schedules Surface Pro 3 update to fix Wi-Fi

Have been having Wi-Fi problems on my i5/128 GB SP3 for a while. This seems to alleviate the problem somewhat, as I don't lose the connection when I wake from hibernation (or whatever it's called with this new Connected Standby feature). Still, around half the time when I turn on the SP3, I get...

Early Surface Pro 3 users struggle with wireless network

Actually, it's pretty much the opposite for me. With my home network, I have no problems connecting Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and other devices such as iPhones and whatnot. But, the odd part is when I upgraded the Windows 8 computer to 8.1, the Limited Network connectivity issues started...

Early Surface Pro 3 users struggle with wireless network

Read more at: Surface Pro 3 WiFi Issues Confirmed By Microsoft | EyeonWindows Glad to see that it's acknowledged by Microsoft. Surprising to see that this was a problem with early Surfaces that was eventually fixed, and is still an ongoing problem with the newest iteration. Luckily, I did...

Early Surface Pro 3 users struggle with wireless network

I don't have an 802.11ac router, so it's not really a big deal on my end. However, I do have a problem with waking up from Sleep Mode. Sometimes, when my SP3 does that, the Wireless Network Connection completely disappears, and I have to restart the computer to get it back. Guess that could be a...

    Microsoft Surface Pro 3 announcement

Didn't you pre-order the i7 version? I thought it wasn't coming out until August 1.

    Microsoft Surface Pro 3 announcement

The Yoga 2 for $599 you are looking at has a Pentium processor, Windows 8.1 regular, 1366x768 resolution, and Intel HD 4200. Comparing that to the current i5 Surface Pros that are currently out, I'd say it's adequately priced.

    Microsoft Surface Pro 3 announcement

Seems to me that you do not differentiate between normal HDDs and SDDs (or whatever the Surface Pro line uses) at all.

    Microsoft Surface Pro 3 announcement

Got my i5/128 GB yesterday at 12pm EDT from UPS. It was my first time delving into Windows 8, and I am having a blast so far. Had to turn off Bitlocker since it was pretty eh with Clonezilla's backup, so that isn't a big loss for me. I did have an issue with it having limited Wi-Fi connectivity...

    Microsoft Surface Pro 3 announcement

Been wanting a Surface Pro since it came out back in 2012. Ended up pre-ordering the i5/128 GB/4GB model. Definitely can't wait for it!

Are You Still Using Windows 8 Developer Preview?

I tried it out as a multiboot, but ended up removing it since I really didn't use it compared to 7 and XP on my laptop. I will very likely install the beta as a multiboot when it comes out though.

March 2012 --Continue with possible Beta or revert back to W7 / XP

I never used Windows 8 that much in my multi boot configuration, I just wanted to test it out and see how it was. I was pretty happy with it, but I eventually got rid of it due to me usually using 7 over it. I will very likely get back into it once the beta comes along.

How did you setup your Win 8 install?

I installed Windows 8 64 bit on a VHD (30 GB dynamic) in my main 7 drive and set it up as a triple boot with Windows 7 and XP. 7 is still my main, but I'm using 8 a few times as well.

Solved No XP on dual boot up

Hmm, for some reason, when I tried to change it around, it took an awfully long time to load the boot menu, and even then, it didn't show Windows XP. Can you show me how yours looks (through the overview)? It probably should be of note that I installed 8 on a Virtual Hard Disk on my C drive...

Solved No XP on dual boot up

Ah, so EasyBCD lets you create a triple boot? I should use that when I install the 64 bit version of the Developer Preview.

Solved No XP on dual boot up

Yeah, I had that problem too. My Acer Aspire 5732Z had Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and Windows XP Professional 32 bit set up as a dual boot, and after I installed Windows 8 Developer Preview 32bit, only Windows 7 showed up in the new boot selection menu, and if I clicked on Windows 7, it would...
