I completely misread the previous reply, my bad. I created the group just like the screenshot shows(with my info of course) and added myself, rebooted and am still unable to access the properties or change the configuration of the network adapter.

Seems Like there isn't a Group for that in Windows 8. Im surprised that Windows would not grant that permission automatically for a user.

Did some more basic testing today, I am able to change/access the properties if I boot into safe mode with networking.

Thanks for taking the time to answer! I rechecked that I was indeed an administrator. Even as an administrator I am unable to access the properties tab of the network.

This is a fairly new install of Windows 8 pro (within the last month), and while trying to set up a static ip up today I found that I was unable to access the network properties or disable the connection in the Network Connections. I am pretty stumped as I am the only user of this computer and...
