    @barnacle. Many many many thanks for your post. I have been struggling for the last couple of weeks trying to install KB2919355 . x64. finally after 24 !! failed attempts, I got round to trying your suggestion, and guess what ? IT WORKED first time. I am a happy chappie again.

    Left the PC on overnight and still working OK this morning, but within an hour of reading emails, and Forum messages, same fault re appears.
